KEY FIGURE 2013: TOURISM ECONOMY IN CAMBODIA
Since 2004, garments, construction, agriculture, and tourism have driven Cambodia's growth. GDP climbed more than 6% per year between 2010 and 2012. The tourism industry has continued to grow rapidly with foreign arrivals exceeding 2 million per year since 2007.

GDP: DIRECT CONTRIBUTION
The direct contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP was $ 1 610 millions (11.5% of total GDP) in 2012, and is forecast to rise by 11.3% in 2013, and to rise by 7.0% pa, from 2013-2023, to $3 514 millions in 2023 (in constant 2012 prices).
GDP: TOTAL CONTRIBUTION
The total contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP was $3 621 millions (25.8% of GDP) in 2012, and is forecast to rise by 11.5% in 2013, and to rise by 7.2% pa to $ 8 058 millions in 2023.
EMPLOYMENT: DIRECT CONTRIBUTION
In 2012 Travel & Tourism directly supported 782,500 jobs (9.7% of total employment). This is expected to rise by 6.1% in 2013 and rise by 3.6% pa to 1,182,000 jobs (12.4% of total employment) in 2023.
EMPLOYMENT: TOTAL CONTRIBUTION
In 2012, the total contribution of Travel & Tourism to employment, including jobs indirectly
supported by the industry, was 22.3% of total employment (1,805,500 jobs). This is expected to rise by 6.2% in 2013 to 1,917,500 jobs and rise by 3.0% pa to 2,585,000 jobs in 2023 (27.0% of total).

VISITOR EXPORTS
Visitor exports generated $1 989 (26.1% of total exports) in 2012. This is forecast to
grow by 12.2% in 2013, and grow by 6.6% pa, from 2013-2023, to $ 4 233 millions in 2023
(30.2% of total).

INVESTMENT
Travel & Tourism investment in 2012 was $ 323 millions, or 14.4% of total investment. It should rise by 12.0% in 2013, and rise by 6.6% pa over the next ten years to 683 millions in 2023 (14.0% of total).
